Heritage Park Historical Village Opens June 27 Featured

Heritage Park logoCalgary, AB (June 17, 2020) – The Historical Village at Heritage Park, and The Selkirk restaurant will open to the public on Saturday, June 27.

This is the final stage in Heritage Park’s phased re-opening plan.

The Historical Village will have reduced hours, open Wednesday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.  The Selkirk will also be open Wednesday through Sunday with both the dining room and patio open for business.

In accordance with Government of Alberta health and safety protocols, our operations will look a little different this year. One way traffic flow, reduced guest capacity, social distancing measures and enhanced cleaning protocols will be in effect throughout the entire park.

Visitors can enjoy antique steam train rides, walk through many of the historical homes and exhibits, plus visit the old-fashioned candy store, Alberta Bakery and Vulcan Ice Cream Parlour. Roving costumed townsfolk and street theatre performances will help bring history alive throughout the park, and select shops and dining establishments will be open as well. Heritage Park will not be holding any special events during the months of July and August.

Timed entry tickets must be pre-purchased in advance online. Reduced admission rates are in effect. For detailed information on which exhibits are open, and to pre-purchase tickets, visit www.HeritagePark.ca.

We thank you for your ongoing patience and support as we continue to work through this process. As the health and safety regulations change, we will assess and revise our operations to the best of our abilities.  Heritage Park is a registered charity and Canada’s largest living history museum. Your support allows Heritage Park to preserve and present Western Canadian heritage and culture.
